Coastal Design Style

The Coastal Design Style is all about the casual beachy atmosphere, lots of light, and bringing the natural elements of the coast inside your home. You’ll find a lot of white-washed woods, blue tones, and plenty of white to help all that beachy sunshine bounce around the room.

The Coastal Grandmother aesthetic pays homage to chintz, florals, and pastel palettes emphasizing lighter, monochrome versions that feel laid-back. it’s all about using neutral color palettes with hints of blue thrown in, a mix of antiques, modern pieces, and textures like mohair, linen, boucle, and nubby knits

Country Farmhouse Style

The key to adding ‘Modern’ into the Country Farmhouse Style is to use neutral backgrounds with pops of contrasting color.

The modern farmhouse often combines shiplap and stainless steel with natural raw woods, exposed brickwork, leathers and tiles with a patina.
The kitchen is the place to gather, eat and chat.  Large kitchen islands and shaker-style cabinetry with brushed metal handles are popular.  Oversized industrial looking light fixtures, vintage accessories, and hardwood flooring all add to that country farmhouse charm.

Mid-Century Modern Style

Mid-century modern was a very popular design era from the 1950s-1960s and is still very trendy today. The style has a lot of modern elements while still maintaining that classic vintage charm from the 1950s-1960s.

To get the look, try incorporating functional, geometric shapes into you home along with a broad range of colors. A mixture of different materials is also very important when it comes to achieving the mid-century modern look. This includes wood, acrylic, plastic, metals, and glass. An easy way to incorporate those materials into your home is by using them in hardware, lighting, and accent pieces.

Industrial Design Style

Just as the name states – the origins of this style lean more towards factory-esque and machine. It can lead a bit more masculine than the other styles as it uses a lot of metal, rustic wood, and leathers. However, the softness comes through its neutral color palette and the use of found objects which instantly can give the room some soul and character.

To achieve the modern industrial look, it’s important to have the minimalist aesthetic while infusing the space with industrial elements such as concrete, steel, glass, exposed brick and beams. An easy way to achieve the look also is to utilize industrial lighting, hardware, streamlined furniture, and decor that complements the refined aesthetic of a modern space.

Boho Design Style

Bohemian style (AKA Boho to most) has become very popular in the last 5 years although its roots date back much further than that. Boho style is all about pulling together natural and organic elements into a very layered and collected look. You’ll find lots of caning, rattan, bamboo, and textiles in this style mixed with bright and saturated colors. It’s exotic, it’s playful and it’s very layered.

Rustic Design Style

Rustic Design Style describes a design that’s natural, rough, aged, and casual, so there are many styles—each drastically different from the other—that can be rustic.

Rustic design mimics nature, so the color palette tends to be of that of green, brown, deep red, beige, gray, and light blue. Of course, plants and flowers are critical to embracing the natural feel.  Potted herb gardens in your kitchen are a fantastic way to achieve this, but if you don’t have much of a green thumb, you can use dried flowers or succulents.

Skip the shimmer and the shine, and pick textiles and accessories that are also true to nature, like woven baskets, wools, and burlaps.

Art Deco Style

The bold, fluid, and symmetrical motifs, patterns, and themes of art deco symbolized technological progress in various industries from transportation to architecture that transformed the country. Geometric, linearity, and angular forms characterize art deco design. The look is strong and bold with no fussiness or romance in sight. When you’re seeking art deco-inspired furniture or accessories, look for several regularly occurring motifs.
